Shroomin'... :)~

I just realized that it was the 1 yr anniversary of my blog on the 6th. Humphhh, who knew I would actually keep this thing going for this long. Granted the frequency of my posts has been lacking... What-evs!..... :)~ .....

Today at work my chef took out this beautiful cluster of Oyster Mushrooms. They were like a work of art....I just had to take a picture!... Here they are....and below is a pic of Chef John Naughright holding the cluster. He is one of the most creative, cooooolest cats ever..... to know, and work for!!!

We both share a dislike in the texture of cooked mushrooms.....Although I think he's gotten over his "phobia"...LOL...I was telling him today that the only time I enjoyed eating one was when I drizzled red hot chili pepper infused xvoo over an Oyster mushroom, and put it in a 700 degree wood fired brick oven. It came out so crispy...Which explains why I liked it.....See, I love the flavor of mushrooms....but to bite into one is another story.....That damn texture thang.....anyway I encourage all you shroom haters to try this at home! :)~

1 Cluster of Oyster Mushrooms
your favorite infused xvoo

salt and pepper to taste

Preheat oven to highest temp.
Wipe with cloth any dirt that may be on mushrooms. Break into smaller clusters. Drizzle infused oil over mushroom clusters. Bake til desired crispiness...

I gotta say -- not a fan of mushrooms...

I heard Portobello burgers are good -- have yet to try that.

Not a fan myself T...
I either have to cut them real small so I don't have to chew them... or real big so I can pick them out...LOL

Portabello's are almost like a meat they are so thick....but you have to like the flavor and texture to eat one! :)~
