There have been parades up and down my street for the past few weeks. Everytime Brazil, Portugal, or Italia won thier game it was a total celebration....Sometimes it is annoying to listen to after working a 10 hr day!!!....but Sunday was the best, of course, because Italia won!!!...Our friend KTGRL come over to watch the game with us...I got out of work early to catch the 2nd half, and cousin Ned came by to watch the parade after......
Great game!!!....it went into overtime, and it came down to penalty kicks...but in the end it was .......................... VIVA LA ITALIA :)~
Here is a recipe for one of my favorite Italian desserts.......
TIRAMISU
1/2 cup espresso
1 shot coffee flavor liqueur
1 shot of Kaluah
2 cups mascarpone cheese
1 cup fresh whipped cream
1/2 cup powdered confectioners' sugar
1/4 cup cocoa powder
Chocolate shavings
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Open the ladyfingers and separate them. Paint the ladyfingers with coffee combined with the coffee liqueur using a pastry brush. Line 4 glasses with a single layer of ladyfingers, letting the cakes overlap a bit at the stem. Press the cakes down a bit to fit the lines of the glass. Beat cheese and sugar together 2 or 3 minutes. Fold in whipcream. Spoon sweetened mascarpone into glasses. Top glasses off with a cap of the ladyfingers. Use any remaining mascarpone to dot the ladyfinger tops and sprinkle each glass with cocoa powder combined with a touch of cinnamon, and chocolate shavings....Or in a shallow pan layer dipped lady fingers and cream, and top off with cocoa powder, and shavings...
